Discover its
main three benefits

1

Increased Surface Safety

Guard Slip Resistant® significantly improves traction on slippery mineral surfaces, helping reduce the risk of slips and falls in wet conditions.

2

Long-Lasting Treatment

Its chemical reaction bonds with silica in the surface to create a durable anti-slip effect that typically lasts for years after a single application.

3

Invisible, Non-Damaging Finish

The treatment does not form a coating or alter the appearance of the material, leaving surfaces looking natural while maintaining their original texture.

Why Choose
Guard Slip Resistant®?

Why Choose
Guard Slip Resistant®?

Long-Lasting Invisible Slip Protection

Guard Slip Resistant® is a professional-grade anti-slip treatment designed to improve safety on slippery mineral surfaces without changing their natural appearance. It works by reacting with the surface to create microscopic traction channels, increasing grip underfoot while maintaining a clean, natural finish.

Ideal for areas exposed to water or heavy foot traffic, it is commonly used on tiles, stone, concrete, pavers, and other hard mineral surfaces where slip risk is a concern.

Key Benefits

When safety matters, Guard Slip Resistant® offers a simple, effective solution that doesn’t compromise appearance. It’s ideal for both residential and commercial applications where reducing slip risk is essential while preserving the natural look of the surface.

  • Effective in one application
  • Does not alter the materials
  • Long-lasting effect
  • Non-corrosive and non-irritant

Safer Surfaces in Wet Conditions

Guard Slip Resistant® significantly increases surface grip, helping reduce the risk of slips and falls in wet, damp or high-traffic environments.

Invisible Finish

The treatment does not form a coating or film, meaning it won’t change the look, colour or texture of the surface.

Durable Long-Term Performance

Once applied, the slip resistance effect is long-lasting, providing ongoing safety benefits without the need for regular reapplication.

How It Works

Guard Slip Resistant® reacts with the silica in mineral-based surfaces to create microscopic abrasions that improve traction. This process enhances grip without leaving any visible residue or altering the surface finish.

How to Apply
Guard Slip Resistant®

Preparation

    • Apply the product to a clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry surface.

Application

    • Use the product in its pure form: do not dilute it.
    • Shake the packaging well before use and carry out a preliminary test on a small surface area.
    • Pour or spray the product on the material. Check that the product is uniformly spread over the entire surface during treatment.
    • Do not leave the product to dry while it is being applied. Add some if necessary.
    • Let it take effect for 40 to 60 minutes.
    • After applying, rinse carefully with water.
    • The treated material can be used immediately.
    • Depending on the floor and the degree of resistance to friction desired, repeat the operation.

Uses

    • Slightly or very low porosity materials: ceramic, terrazzo, tiling, enamel, etc.
    • Floors
    • New or old
    • Internal and external
    • Recommended for patios, drives, pool surrounds, kitchen floors, etc.

Indicative Coverage

    • 8-10m2/Litre
    • Coverage will vary depending on the porosity of the surface.

Tools Required

    • Low pressure sprayer or manual sprayer.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Guard Slip Resistant® modifies the microscopic surface texture of tiles, stone and concrete to significantly increase grip when wet. It penetrates into the surface and will not wear off, peel or change the visual appearance.

No. This product requires silica in the surface to bond effectively, and marble typically has very low silica content. For marble, it is usually better to improve grip through mechanical or chemical etching, then restore colour and protection using a product like ProtectGuard® WF Premium.

Yes - shower recesses are one of the most common applications. A 5 litre container is sufficient for a standard shower recess. Also suitable for bathroom floors, pool surrounds and any hard surface that becomes slippery when wet.

Guard Slip Resistant® must be applied to the raw, unsealed surface first. The correct sequence is: apply Guard Slip Resistant® first, allow to cure, then apply your chosen sealer.

Yes. It is suitable for glazed ceramic and porcelain tiles in both indoor and outdoor covered areas. However, it is a treatment rather than a sealer, so correct application is essential—keep the surface damp during reaction and thoroughly rinse off excess before it dries.

No. The product relies on bonding with silica in the substrate. Painted or sealed surfaces prevent this reaction. It is not suitable for non-porous, painted, or coated surfaces, and may leave a light residue if used incorrectly.

It may create a light off-white residue on darker surfaces due to the treatment reaction. It is important to consider this before applying on decorative or coloured finishes.

Longevity depends on traffic and wear. Maintenance can be carried out as needed by reapplying a diluted solution (1:4 ratio of product to water) and mopping onto the surface to restore slip resistance.

Guard Slip Resistant® does not carry a specific slip rating certification because the final result depends on the initial texture of the substrate. For compliance-critical applications, have the treated surface tested with a slip meter after curing.
